marc with a 'c' or mark with a 'k' - still the same all over the world. eww.

i will get into that more in a second...
first things first; my classes yesterday! i had my into to national cinema at 10 - well, i got up late (imagine that - no it wasn't from going out, i stayed in that night :-) so i get to the tower building where the class was being held at about 1005 hrs and it takes me a little to find the room. only, i'm dyslexic evidently and went into the wrong room. so after grabbing a syllabus and sitting there for a few moments, trying to catch my breath, i realize what i've done. so, i give the syllabus back to the proff. and leave the room. finding my way down to the other room (which ironically had passed when i first walked into the hallway, if only i could R E A D...) i walk into a huge stadium type seating area where there are: no seats! yes - can it get any better?? i walk to the top/back row, and the entire row has to shift over to get me a seat. besides that, the class was fabulous! others walked in late too - some had to sit on the steps - so it wasn't soo bad. we are watching trainspotting & that flying dragon something or other movie. you know which one i'm talking about! the name escapes me right now. after the actual lecture, you get a break and then go to a seminar for about an hour or so. it's a smaller, intimate group and you continue talking about the lecture. guess who’s the only american in her national cinema seminar? it was ok though, i met another girl from finland there who is new to the university as well. actually, my group (we had to get into groups for the rest of the semester) is really cool. there are about 6 of us. i haven't really met anyone who 'down right' hated us yet. OH, i almost forgot - guess what it did yesterday?? com'on, you know... it rained! finally, i was getting to think that was just a myth. i had another class following the first one, but the building is a 30 min walk and i wasn't exactly sure where it was. so i took a taxi. only ₤4 - i didn't think that was too bad. this class is criminal and forensic psychology - amazing. we have 1 assignment, to do a 3000 word case study on a criminal case and how psychology played into the decision or outcome. i can't wait to start doing research for it! so that is my semester; theatre, art, movies and reading old case files - i think there are naps on little carpets and finger-painting somewhere along the way! i love it here... edinboro univ, what's that?? erie pd, where?? i ripped up my returning plane ticket - mom, your going to have to start saving for a plane ticket to come and visit!
so about the rain; it makes your mascara run down your face. after donning this fabulous look for an hour or so - i finally make my way to a mirror... nice. so that's why little kids on the tube were staring at me. stellar!
ok - the whole marc thing. dayna and i go to a pub last night called 'big reds' - it's a folk/country/classic rock type of place. really fun there, that’s where i saw elvis last week. he wasn't there last night though, i looked! anyway, there was a booth full of blokes waving us to come over. so we go ahead and sit down with them - some of them were students at london met. well, there was one that i was talking to named 'marc'. eww. but, i figured 'give the ol' boy a chance jamie, they can't all be bad'. so after talking to me for 2 hours or so, and making me think 'wow, he's really nice, this is going to be fun...' he then proceeds to tell me (after asking for my number, seeing where we are going later and giving me a kiss – ok – family members who didn’t want to read that, forget i said anything… ) he decides to tell me as we are standing outside in the fog and rain (which was a little surreal) that he has some things he forgot about and has to attain to. i’m like, com’on – you said so yourself that you wanted to come with us. oh, you are engaged – fabulous… some info that would have been helpful 2 hours prior to this. And you see, his name was marc. a ‘c’ or a ‘k’ – it doesn’t really matter. i guess when all of the mark’s of the world are engaged they really aren’t engaged.
here he is though:
