i traveled alone and made it back without getting lost!

so, i traveled on my own today - which went well. i didn't get lost this time. i took the tube by myself to trafalgar square & piccadilly circus. i posted some great pics! then, since i was there by myself, had a nice older couple take the pic of me in front of the fountain. hey, look at me, i have no friends... kidding, err, my friends were over on the other side of the fountain! i also went into the national gallery - it's a huge art museum. i apparently have never been in a 'real' gallery before. i was shocked to see that each room was huge and hosted only 5-8 pics, and then had a guard standing or sitting in each room (so you don't touch or take pictures of the art). there were 60 some rooms of silence. no one talks in art galleries i guess. there are benches and couches infront of some of the larger pieces. i guess so you can sit and ponder them? old men were just sleeping in them - maybe they were waiting for their wives... but it wasn't just 1 or 2 old men i saw sleeping, there were a few. i don't know if you have ever heard of the artist Rubens - but his paintings were very odd. people killing young babies or serpent dog like creatures eating heads off humans. they all had a religious theme to them and were painted between 1600-1700. for my art class next monday, we are actually going to this art gallery again. at least i will know what to expect (guess i will have to bring my ipod to keep myself entertained - since no one is talking while you are there!)
karen & i went to a comedy night at the local bar for students here called the rocket. it was interesting, some funny, some not so much. we met up with the students i road to the flat with; the millersville kids! i posted some of their pics down below along with the pics of my adventure today! by the way, for everyone who has been emailing me - thank you! it helps ease the loneliness i feel sometimes!
ok - check out the pics!
cheers!
oh, the paris trip is postponed and i am going to stonehenge on friday - somewhere sat (not sure yet) and then sunday is the chinese new year parade! it's supposed to be great!
