Happy belated Valentines Day
Well, yesterday was my first tour of the art museum. It was amazing – so much fun to stand around in a large group smooshed together trying to look at tiny little plaques that read about the art we are looking at. Ok, it was that bad – but the art and learning about each piece was the amazing part. I have learned so much about art in the 2 classes I’ve taken then probably my whole life. Well, that, or I am just paying attention this time.
Last night was the blessed Valentines Day… Actually, anti valentines little ol’ me had a wonderful time. It all started with my best friend in the whole world sending me a box of cookies! Please tell me she isn’t the cutest thing you have ever seen? She is truly my BEST friend! I and the rest of the girls went to dinner at a place called the Coronet. They serve red bull & vodka in pitchers. That can’t be right… who serves that in a pitcher? There is a place called ‘Pitcher & Pianos’ that we are going to go to one night. I guess it’s a little more classy (which = expensive) than what we have been going to, but all of their drinks are served in pitchers. Classy & drinks served in pitchers – that doesn’t make sense. Almost as much sense as a club being called ‘Elbow Room’… Anyway, can’t wait to go there. Lora, Erin? I know you will be in!
After dinner, we went to a bar called Spoofers. Its right across from the tower main building of my school so supposedly that’s where all the kids go. Except last night, there was no one there when we went. I think that’s the story of my life “hey, this bar is the ‘place to go’ – but when I get there, it’s changed to another place already”. Then we had to choose whether we were: single, taken or maybe. I wanted to say maybe (Prince William, I know you are reading this…) but with my hesitation, a lime green sticker with a random number on it was thrown on my chest telling the entire bar that I am single. Great… Thanks for the advertising lady. We had some drinks and danced the night away. It was a great time (you know me, as always!) And then, well Jamie pulled one of her most famous stunts… she took a cement dive! Yep, it’s the annual walking home (or just walking in general) trip over the cement. Sorry mum & dad, I’m sure you really love reading about this drunken moment of my life. When I get back home, the drinking stops again – I did it before, I will do it again. It’s different here though; I am not driving anywhere, just walking (although that wasn’t going so well). And by the way, the cement here isn’t like a regular sidewalk, some of its cobblestone (which is GREAT for high heels… Yes!) and the rest of it is uneven. I know that played a part in the stellar performance of the cement dive. No, I wasn’t hurt (I know that is what you were thinking) and I didn’t rip anything. One of the guys we were walking home with (he lives in our flat) was linked onto my arm. After my tumble, he turns around and says “Where’d ya go?” I was like, “Hey, a little help here… Why did you let me fall?” It’s so much easier to blame it on someone else, like it was his fault I have never learned to walk yet. So… we made it back to the flat and continued the Vday celebration. There is a kitchen right next to my room and that’s the ‘gathering’ point. We were all decked out in our PJs and had some wine.
All in all, I had a great time. It’s amazing that in 2 weeks, I have made such great friends here. Imagine how hard it’s going to be to leave them now… Ugh, I can’t even think about leaving here. I’m thinking that after I graduate from Edinboro, I am going to do my graduate study here – then find a job perhaps. Ooops, I guess we know what that means = JAMIE IS MOVING TO LONDON!! (Don’t worry Mum, I will find a rich lawyer type bloke who can fly you over and back whenever you want… Prince William, I was just kidding, I know you said that I have full use of the royal jet…)
Ta Ta for now!
